Keep the recipe blog and the cooking reel in the same collection

The dish you want to cook might come from a recipe blog, an Instagram reel or a YouTube demonstration. Savebase keeps those sources together so you can find the written method and the spoken tip when you need them. Use meal folders, ingredient tags and notes about your own results. On Pro, request a video transcript to revisit instructions that were spoken rather than written in the caption.

Put your saves to work

A practical recipe saver workflow

Folders & tags ↗

Organize around the meals you actually cook

Create a Recipes folder and group sources by purpose: weeknight dinners, baking or meals to try. Add tags such as chickpeas, one-pan and vegetarian to make the same recipe useful in several searches. Save the original blog link with the cooking video, then note which version you intend to follow. A shortlist for this week helps turn browsing into a meal decision.

Video transcripts ↗

Keep spoken technique available

On Pro, request transcription for a supported saved cooking video. A transcript can expose the resting-time tip or texture cue that never appeared in the caption. Read it alongside the original recipe and video, especially for quantities and timing. Transcription depends on available audio and successful processing; saving a reel alone does not automatically attach its spoken instructions.

Notes ↗

Remember what happened in your kitchen

After cooking, add a note with the serving size, substitutions and changes you would repeat. Label a source tried or try-next using manual tags. If you use a connected AI assistant on Pro, ask it to find saved dishes around an ingredient and include the links. Keep ingredient quantities from the original recipe when the captured reference does not include them.

Optional AI workflow · Pro

A prompt to use with your saved references

Connect Savebase to ChatGPT or an MCP-compatible assistant, then adapt this prompt to your own folder and tags.

Find recipes in my saved Weeknight dinners collection that use chickpeas. Use available notes and video transcripts, include the source links, and list missing ingredient quantities rather than inventing them.

Request video transcripts before asking about spoken content. MCP access is read-only; your assistant can retrieve available material, while library edits happen in Savebase.

Questions about recipe saver

Can I save recipes from Instagram reels?

Save supported Instagram reels through the extension's native-save workflow and file them with recipe links. On Pro, request a transcript for available spoken content. Keep your own note for ingredients or directions that only appear visually in the video.

Will Savebase extract a complete recipe automatically?

Savebase keeps the saved reference and can transcribe supported video audio on request with Pro. It does not guarantee a complete structured recipe, ingredient parser or conversion of on-screen text into instructions. Check the original source for missing details.
