Use cases · Read it later

Save the article now. Give yourself a reason to read it later.

An interesting article arrives when you are halfway through something else. Savebase lets you keep its link alongside saved threads and social posts, then return when you have time. Build a small Read later folder and add a note about the question the source answers. A focused queue and a review reminder make it easier to turn saved reading into something you actually use.

Put your saves to work

A practical read it later workflow

Browser extension ↗

Save reading without losing your place

Use Save Current Page or the extension's right-click menu for an ordinary article. Use supported platforms' native save controls for social posts. Put the references in Read later and keep browsing. If a particular paragraph matters, save selected text with its page URL so you have a useful starting point when you reopen the source.

Notes ↗

Choose what deserves your next reading session

Write a short reason for the save: understand a concept, answer a project question or compare a different view. Add tags such as quick-read, deep-dive and this-week if they help you choose. The goal is a queue you can finish, so keep the next few readings separate from the broader reference library and remove items that no longer serve a purpose.

Email reminders ↗

Return to a source at the right time

Set a reminder on the article you need before a meeting, or plan a regular review of the folder. Enable reminder emails to bring the saved reference back to your attention. After reading, add your takeaway and move it into the project it supports. A read-status tag can be your own convention; it does not require an automatic reading tracker.

What to expect from this workflow

Savebase keeps source links and captured reference content. It does not guarantee a distraction-free full-article reader or offline copies of arbitrary webpages. Paywalls and the original site's access rules still apply.

Ordinary web links, notes, manual tags and per-post reminders are included on Free. Social-save limits depend on your plan.

Questions about read it later

How is read it later different from a reading list?

Read it later is a queue for interesting sources you cannot finish now. A reading list is usually a planned sequence around a topic or learning goal. Use a Read later folder for incoming material and move selected sources into a topic list when you decide to study it.

Can I read saved articles offline?

Savebase does not provide full offline copies of arbitrary articles. Some loaded library records may be cached locally, but opening original sites and uncached content still needs a connection. Save essential reading separately if you need a complete offline copy.
