Savebase for Researchers

Bookmark manager for researchers

Keep every source tied to the research question.

Research often starts with a mix of reports, datasets, papers and practitioner accounts. Savebase gives researchers one place to organize that discovery work. Label what each source can establish, retain the open questions in notes and revisit your source inventory when the research question becomes more precise.

From save to useful reference

A workflow for researchers

Folders & tags ↗

Organize around questions, not just websites

Create folders for research questions and use tags for source type, method or population. A report may answer one question and raise another. Cross-cutting labels help you find relevant material without duplicating the same URL across every stage of the project.

Notes ↗

Keep limitations beside the claim

Record the main observation, source date and limitations you identify while reading. Note whether you have examined the full source or only its public summary. This makes later synthesis more disciplined and gives you a search path back to the reference behind an apparent contradiction.

Google Sheets integration ↗

Build a source inventory alongside analysis

Sync saved records to Savebase's Google Sheet to retain URLs, tags and notes in a spreadsheet workflow. Use that inventory as a starting point for your own review matrix. The integration does not automatically extract study characteristics, assess quality or complete a systematic review.

A small, annotated collection is a useful place to begin.

  1. 1

Create a folder for one question and tags for method, population and source type.

  2. 2

Save references with claims, limits and reading status in your notes.

  3. 3

Sync a source inventory to Sheets and assess the original material before synthesis.

Keep your library useful as it grows.

Bring existing references with import, review repeated URLs with duplicate removal, and keep a portable copy through JSON export. The duplicate-removal guide explains the scan's scope and deletion behavior.

Choose the plan for your workflow

RSS subscriptions, rule-based automation, webhooks, Notion and Google Sheets integrations, media backup and video transcripts require an eligible paid plan. Media backup covers eligible Instagram, Facebook, Threads and TikTok saves, with backup enabled and media successfully fetched.

Common questions from researchers

Is Savebase a systematic review tool?

Savebase can organize discovery links and notes, but it does not provide screening protocols, independent reviewer decisions or validated evidence extraction. Use a dedicated review workflow for those requirements and keep your reference library as supporting material.

Can I query saved research from an AI assistant?

Yes. Connect the Savebase ChatGPT plugin or MCP server to retrieve saved references in a compatible assistant. Check the original sources and your own assessment before accepting a synthesis; library access does not establish the quality of the evidence.
