Decide which part of Evernote you want to replace

List your actual use: clipped sources, authored notes, tasks, attachments or collaboration. A reference library can take over the first category without replacing the others. Keep a notebook product on the shortlist when editing and developing your own documents is the main requirement.

Preserve your notes separately from their source URLs

A URL points back to a source, while an exported notebook may contain original writing and files. These are different migration objects. Test which information your replacement can accept before assuming that a bookmark import will reproduce an Evernote notebook.

Keep Evernote when editable notebooks, annotated clips, screenshots and broader note-taking are essential. Savebase is a focused alternative for the reference-collection part of that workflow.

Questions about Evernote alternatives

Can Savebase replace all of Evernote?

Savebase can replace a research-link collection when you want social saves, web references, notes and reminders together. It does not reproduce Evernote's notebook editing, document capture and broader workspace features. Keep those requirements separate when evaluating a replacement.

Can I upload an Evernote ENEX file to Savebase?

No native ENEX importer is implemented. Keep your notebook export and collect the original reference URLs you want to bring across as a plain text URL list. This transfers references, not the complete notes and attachments.
