Use cases · Tab saver

Turn open research tabs into references you can return to

A browser full of tabs often means a project has more research than you can use today. Savebase lets you save the useful pages as references and group them around the task. Save each source you intend to revisit, add the next question to its note, and close the tab when you are ready. Savebase does not offer one-click capture or restoration of an entire browser session.

Start with Free. Advanced feature availability depends on your plan.

Put your saves to work

A practical tab saver workflow

Browser extension ↗

Save the useful pages before closing them

Open the pages you want to keep and use Save Current Page or the right-click Save to Savebase command. Choose the pages that contribute to the project rather than preserving every search result. A saved URL gives you a route back to the source, so check that the bookmark appears in your library before you close something important.

Folders & tags ↗

Keep the research task together

File the references in a project folder, such as Comparing analytics tools. Tag them comparison, pricing and setup so the collection describes the decision you are making. If you already have a browser-bookmark collection, import it through the extension. On Pro, supported bookmark HTML files and text URL lists can provide another route into the library.

Notes ↗

Leave yourself a way to resume

Add a note about what you learned and what remains to check on each source. The next time you open the project folder, those notes explain why the tabs mattered. Savebase preserves references, not form inputs, page scroll positions or window layouts. Keep unfinished work in its original tool and use a browser session manager when exact session restoration is essential.

Try it with your next collection

Start with a few references for something you want to do.

Savebase quick start →
  1. 1

Choose the open pages that support one project and save their URLs individually.

  2. 2

Confirm the saves in your project folder and note the next comparison or question.

  3. 3

Close the tabs when ready, then resume later from the saved references.

What to expect from this workflow

This is a bookmark workflow for reducing open tabs. Savebase does not capture every tab in one action, restore browser windows or recover unsaved tab state.

Saving ordinary webpages and importing browser bookmarks through the extension are available on Free. Pro adds dashboard imports of supported HTML files and text URL lists.

Questions about tab saver

Can Savebase save all open tabs with one click?

No. Use Save Current Page or the right-click menu to save useful pages individually. You can also import existing browser bookmarks, or use Pro dashboard imports for supported bookmark files and URL lists.

Will Savebase restore my browsing session?

No. Saved references let you reopen source URLs, but they do not retain window groups, form inputs, scroll positions or other live page state. Use a browser session tool for restoring a session exactly.
