Use cases · New tab dashboard

Start your browsing with the references you already chose

A new tab dashboard is useful when it brings the next task into focus. Savebase can serve as a daily reference dashboard: open your saved library, review the folder for your current project and continue from the sources you collected. The Savebase extension does not replace your browser's new-tab page. Keep the dashboard easy to open with a browser bookmark or a pinned tab.

Put your saves to work

A practical new tab dashboard workflow

Folders & tags ↗

Create a small starting collection

Use a Today or Current project folder for sources you plan to act on soon. Save the guide you need to read, the documentation you use during a task and the example you want to inspect. Keep the collection focused so opening it helps you choose the next action. Move long-term references into their project folders after you finish.

Notes ↗

Put the next action beside the reference

Add notes such as Compare this pricing with the other two tools or Read the section about onboarding before the meeting. The source title tells you what a link is; your note tells you why to open it today. Use a small tag set to distinguish reading, research and examples without rebuilding the dashboard every morning.

Email reminders ↗

Make a daily review easy to repeat

Pin the Savebase dashboard in your browser or add it to your bookmark bar. Review the current folder when you begin work, and use a per-post reminder for a source with a particular deadline. Leave clocks, weather widgets and browser quick links in your preferred new-tab tool. Savebase gives your chosen references a separate, searchable home.

Questions about new tab dashboard

Does Savebase replace my new-tab page?

No. The extension does not install a new-tab override. Open Savebase through a pinned tab or browser bookmark and use its library as your reference starting point alongside your existing new-tab page.

How do I keep a daily dashboard useful?

Keep a small folder of references for the current project, add the next action to each note and review it regularly. Move completed reading into longer-term folders so the starting collection stays focused.
