Use cases · Bookmark sync

Bring your bookmarks into one library across your browsing

You save a post in one browser and need the reference when you return to work somewhere else. Savebase keeps the references in your account rather than leaving each project scattered across platform save lists. The extension mirrors supported native social saves, while ordinary webpages can be saved directly. Sign in to the same Savebase account to revisit the library through the web dashboard.

Put your saves to work

A practical bookmark sync workflow

Browser extension ↗

Connect the browser where you actually save

Install the extension in a supported browser and sign in. For native-save syncing, stay signed in to the social platform in that browser as well. Saving an Instagram post or bookmarking a supported social post can then add its reference to Savebase. Use the extension settings and connection indicators when a save does not appear as expected.

Import & export ↗

Bring earlier saves into the account

Native-save syncing handles ongoing actions; older collections need an import. Use platform Grab controls for supported existing saves, or direct browser-bookmark import for your browser library. Confirm a few examples in the dashboard before importing the rest. Rebuild project folders after browser import because the original browser folder tree is flattened.

Folders & tags ↗

Keep one project structure in the library

File a travel blog and an Instagram recommendation into the same trip folder, then use the web dashboard to review them together. Tags such as Tokyo or food apply across sources. This gives you one reference structure inside Savebase even if the original links came from different browsers or platforms. A connection is still needed to load uncached content and original sites.

Savebase quick start →
  1. 1

Sign in to the same Savebase account in your browser extension and dashboard.

  2. 2

Save a test reference, confirm it appears, then import the older sources you need.

  3. 3

Apply one project folder and shared tags so you can pick up the research later.

What to expect from this workflow

Savebase syncs references into its own account library. It does not provide two-way synchronization of Chrome, Firefox or Edge's native bookmark trees. Notion and Google Sheets integrations are separate Pro workflows.

Choose the plan for your collection

Free supports any two social platforms, up to 100 social posts, and unlimited ordinary web links. Pro unlocks all 11 supported social platforms and unlimited social posts.

Questions about bookmark sync

Does Savebase sync my browser bookmark bar between browsers?

No. You can import browser bookmarks into Savebase and access the resulting library from your account. Savebase does not continuously mirror browser bookmark bars or write its folder structure back into each browser.

Why might a social bookmark not appear in Savebase?

Check that the extension is signed in, the platform is supported, and you are logged in to that platform in the same browser. Also check your plan's platform and post limits. Existing saves may need a Grab import rather than waiting for an ongoing save event.
