Savebase for Video editors

Bookmark manager for video editors

Remember the edit you wanted to study.

A transition, pacing decision or sound-led opening can be hard to describe after a week of client work. Savebase helps video editors keep the reference and their observation together. Collect examples by project and technique, then return to the exact idea when building a treatment or discussing an edit direction.

From save to useful reference

A workflow for video editors

Notes ↗

Describe the technique and its location

Record where the technique appears, what the cut achieves and which project it might suit. A note such as opening match cut or pause before the reveal makes a reference searchable. Keep the source URL so the observation stays attached to the creator's actual work.

Social media backup ↗

Keep eligible social clips in your reference library

Enable backup for eligible Instagram, Facebook, Threads and TikTok media while it is fetchable. A successfully backed-up clip can remain viewable when its original media URL expires. This keeps study material available; it does not provide licensed footage, project files or editing rights.

Video transcripts ↗

Find the spoken beat that drives an edit

Request transcripts for supported saved videos and search for the phrase around a reveal or explanation. Pair that text with your own timing note, then inspect the recording for rhythm and image choices. Transcripts support reference retrieval rather than replacing your editing timeline.

A small, annotated collection is a useful place to begin.

Savebase quick start →
  1. 1

Create a project reference folder and tags for pacing, transitions and sound.

  2. 2

Save clips with a timing note and back up eligible media you want to study later.

  3. 3

Review the relevant references before the treatment discussion, keeping footage rights separate.

Keep your library useful as it grows.

Bring existing references with import, review repeated URLs with duplicate removal, and keep a portable copy through JSON export. The duplicate-removal guide explains the scan's scope and deletion behavior.

Choose the plan for your workflow

RSS subscriptions, rule-based automation, webhooks, Notion and Google Sheets integrations, media backup and video transcripts require an eligible paid plan. Media backup covers eligible Instagram, Facebook, Threads and TikTok saves, with backup enabled and media successfully fetched.

Use Savebase for editorial references and technique study. It is not an asset licensing service or a replacement for your NLE.

Common questions from video editors

Does Savebase edit videos or store project files?

No. Savebase organizes saved video references and notes. It can back up eligible social media and transcribe supported saved videos, but your NLE, project files, licensed assets and media delivery workflow remain separate.

Can I use a backed-up reference in a client edit?

Backing up a clip preserves reference access; it does not grant reuse rights. Keep your observation about the technique in Savebase and obtain the necessary permission or licensed footage separately before including material in a deliverable.
