A better fit for what you save

Pocket alternatives for your saved library

Pocket shut down on July 8, 2025. Mozilla ended data exports on November 12, 2025, so migration now depends on an export or source list you already kept. Savebase is our first pick for a new library that combines web references with social posts; a dedicated reader may fit better if comfortable article reading is the entire job.

Choose between a reference library and a reading app

Think about what you saved in Pocket and what you save today. A collection of research links, social examples and videos benefits from notes and project organization. If your main habit is reading long articles, evaluate a reader's text presentation and listening tools directly.

Begin with the file you actually have

Look for a retained Pocket export ZIP, CSV or older bookmark HTML file. You cannot create a new Pocket export now. Without an old file, collect the original URLs you still possess; no replacement app can promise to recover data that only remained in Pocket's closed service.

Our Pocket alternative shortlist

#1 · Our first pick for social references

Savebase

Start with Free

Savebase gives your next saved-content library an active review routine. Import retained Pocket links, group them with current social references, add notes and schedule email reminders. Paid workflows can bring in RSS articles, sync records to Notion or Google Sheets and transcribe supported saved videos. This is a useful shift when reading research has expanded beyond articles into social posts and clips.

Moving to Savebase

Import the Pocket export you already retained

Savebase import source: Pocket (shut down)

  1. 1

Find your saved export. Unzip a later CSV export first, or locate an older ril_export.html file.

  2. 2

Choose Pocket in Savebase's import dialog and upload the CSV or HTML file; inspect the preview.

  3. 3

Check a small set of original URLs and notes, then organize the usable references for your next project.

The Pocket export window is closed. Savebase imports retained files; it cannot request a new export or recover content that was not saved elsewhere.

Questions about Pocket alternatives

Can I still export my bookmarks from Pocket?

No. Mozilla says Pocket data exports ended on November 12, 2025. Use an export you downloaded earlier or original URLs you retained in another place. Savebase cannot reopen the closed Pocket service to recover the missing library.

Is Savebase a Pocket alternative or an article reader?

Savebase is a saved-content and reference library for supported social posts and web links, with notes and reminders. It can import retained Pocket files. Evaluate Instapaper or wallabag if a dedicated article-reading experience is your primary need.
