How saving works on Threads today

Tap the bookmark icon under any post to save it, then find everything you've saved via Profile → menu icon → Saved. Since Threads runs on the same underlying account system as Instagram, the save mechanism will feel immediately familiar if you've used Instagram's Saved feature.

Threads' disappearing posts, and why that matters for your saves

Threads has optional ghost posts, introduced in October 2025, which automatically archive after 24 hours. Ordinary posts do not all expire on that timer, but their authors can delete them. A bookmark is therefore not a guarantee that the content will still be visible when you return.

Organizing saved content by topic

Threads' native Saved tab is a flat list with no folders and no tags. For light, occasional saving that's rarely a problem; for anyone using Threads for genuine research or reference, it becomes the same bottleneck as an unsorted Instagram Saved tab.

Backing up Threads saves before they vanish

For content you need to revisit, distinguish a bookmark from an actual captured copy.
