RSS Troubleshooting
Common Errors

| Invalid feed | URL doesn't return valid RSS/Atom XML | Confirm the URL ends in .xml, .rss, or /feed — try opening it in a browser |
| Could not parse feed | Feed uses a non-standard format | Some sites require a direct feed URL rather than the homepage |
| URL not allowed | URL points to a private/internal network address | Only public internet URLs are supported |
| Test Feed returns no items | Feed is empty or has no recent entries | Subscribe anyway — new items will appear when the feed publishes |
Feed Not Updating
- Check the subscription is enabled (toggle is on)
- Use the Poll Now button to trigger an immediate check
- Verify the feed URL is still valid by pasting it in a new browser tab
- Some feeds only publish a few times per week — the "Last checked" timestamp confirms polling is working
Duplicate Posts
Savebase deduplicates by GUID. If you see duplicate posts, the feed may have changed the GUID for existing items (some CMS platforms do this on edits). You can delete the duplicates manually from the dashboard — they won't re-appear once the GUID is stable.
