Auto-Tagging & Folders

Every RSS subscription can have a set of tags and a folder pre-assigned. When new articles arrive, these are applied automatically — no manual work needed.

Auto-Tagging

At subscription creation, click any tag badges in the Auto-tags row to select them. All selected tags will be inserted into post_tags for every new post from that feed. You can select as many tags as you like.

Changing tags later

Updating subscription tags does not retroactively change posts that have already been saved — only new incoming posts get the updated tag set.

Auto-Folder

Pick a folder from the Auto-folder dropdown when adding or editing a subscription. New posts are placed in that folder automatically. You can reassign posts to different folders any time from the dashboard.

Combining with Rule Engine

For more powerful automation, combine RSS Subscriptions with the Rule Engine (Settings → Rule Engine). For example:

  • RSS feed auto-saves to the Tech News folder → Rule Engine adds a #to-read tag whenever a post lands in that folder
  • RSS feed imports article → Rule Engine checks if URL contains ai → adds #AI tag automatically

Tip

The Rule Engine's Imported From Feed condition lets you write rules that only fire for posts from a specific RSS subscription.
