Media Backup FAQ
What happens on the Free plan?
Free users can save posts from all platforms. Media from Instagram, Threads, TikTok, and Facebook displays using the platform's temporary CDN links. These links will eventually expire, and the media will stop loading. Text content, metadata, and post links are not affected. Upgrading to Pro and enabling backup preserves your media permanently.
What if I downgrade to Free?
Media that was already backed up keeps its permanent URLs — existing backups are never deleted when you downgrade. However, new posts saved after downgrading will use temporary CDN links and won't be backed up. If you upgrade again and re-enable backup, new posts will be backed up from that point forward.
Can expired links be recovered?
No. Once a platform CDN link expires, the media cannot be recovered by Savebase or any other service. The original platform has removed the content from their CDN. This is why enabling backup as soon as possible is recommended.
Is there a storage limit?
There is no hard storage limit for backed-up media on Pro and Lifetime plans. Media is stored efficiently — images are typically 50–500 KB and videos are stored at their original quality.
What about private account posts?
If you follow a private account and save one of their posts, the media is backed up the same way as public posts. The backed-up copy is stored in your personal, isolated storage folder and is only accessible to you through signed URLs. No other Savebase user can access it.
