Enabling Media Backup
Permanent Media Backup is an opt-in feature. It does not activate automatically — you choose when to enable it.
Requirements
- An active Pro or Lifetime subscription
- The Savebase browser extension installed
Free plan
Free users can save posts from all platforms — media displays using the platform's temporary CDN links. Permanent backup is available after upgrading to Pro.
Enable from Settings
Go to Settings → Data in your Savebase dashboard. Under the "Permanent Media Backup" section, click Enable Backup. This turns on backup for all future saves and triggers a one-time backfill of your existing posts.
Disabling Backup
You can disable backup at any time from Settings → Data. When disabled:
- New posts will use temporary platform CDN links (no permanent copies created)
- Existing backups are not deleted — posts that were already backed up keep their permanent URLs
- You can re-enable backup at any time
